from the early years

The links below are to copies of the early Newsletters and Annual Reports of CPRE Northants. They take a little while to load (depending upon your connection speed), but they are a fascinating insight into the campaigns of our founders.
The years with the larger files are in bold.
The reports are taken from the collection of Keith Allsop, a volunteer both now and then.

fly-tipping and litter

...are the twin scourges of Northamptonshire - and of other counties too

Our 2010 Stop the Drop Campaign runs from Friday April 9 to Sunday April 18. Is your village or group organising a litter pick during the CPRE Northants Stop the Drop campaign? If not, ask them to! Or, organise one yourself....

local foods

We at CPRE Northants are running a campaign to increase awareness of Local Foods in the county.

Our bid for £5,000 of Grassroots funding has been approved by the Northamptonshire Community Foundation.

The new project, called ‘Buy Local, Eat Local’ will be an outreach awareness and fact finding project aimed at local people. It will raise understanding of the importance of local food and find out how people can be encouraged to buy more locally produced food.

The project will run from October ‘09 to August ‘10. It will build on the success of our recent FoodMiles Primary Education Pack that is helping to build awareness with school children and it will complement the current Buy Local Foods Awards scheme that celebrates local food suppliers and supporters. As part of the project we will conduct a survey, talking directly with local people, and this will be used to inform the next steps in our work to support local foods in the county.
